The Kern Coalition is a collaboration of local organizations and communities committed to bringing economic growth to communities that need it most. The day-to-day tasks of administrating California Jobs First funding, supporting other governance bodies, and engaging with community members are conducted by the Kern Coalition, a group comprising four locally based nonprofit organizations and the Kern Community College District (acting as fiscal agent) that share a vision for “a diversified, sustainable, equitable, and thriving economy that eliminates intergenerational poverty and empowers Kern County residents from every background to access economic opportunity” (Kern Coalition 2024).
